The words land before the speaker stops.

Winteam delivers on-site and remote stenography in Chinese, Japanese and Korean, plus multilingual live captioning and simultaneous translation. Hearings, arbitrations, board meetings, press conferences, webinars — every sentence becomes a searchable, time-coded verbatim transcript as it is spoken.

Services

Three services, one control room.

Stenography, captioning and translation run off one audio feed and one glossary. When all three are live, the caption on screen, the translation beneath it and the transcript you receive afterwards all point at the same timecode.

Stenography / Verbatim transcript

Full-speed steno in Chinese, Japanese and Korean at hearing-grade accuracy. On-site or remote, delivered afterwards as a time-coded transcript.

  • Sustained 250+ characters per minute
  • Speaker separation and labelling
  • Delivered as DOCX / PDF / SRT / VTT

Live captioning

Captions on the venue screen, the live stream and the online meeting at once. End-to-end latency under three seconds, with two-language dual-line output.

  • Native Zoom / Teams / Webex integration
  • OBS and SDI / NDI overlay for broadcast
  • Accessibility-compliant captions

Real-time translation

Simultaneous translated captions for Chinese↔English, Chinese↔Japanese, Chinese↔Korean and other pairs. Glossaries are loaded beforehand so names, titles and terms of art never drift.

  • 20+ working language pairs
  • Pre-loaded glossary and name list
  • Optional human reviewer in the loop

Scenarios

Where the record has to be right.

We have worked all of these, and we know where each one goes wrong: people talking over each other, accents, a sudden switch of agenda, a speaker reading from a script far too fast.

Hearings & arbitration Board & shareholder meetings Press conferences Due-diligence interviews Webinars Expos & industry forums Live streams & broadcast Training & internal courses Medical & technical conferences Government & public consultation

Process

From enquiry to transcript.

  1. Scope the job

    5–10 working days before

Languages, sessions, running time, on-site or remote, captions or transcript, delivery format. Quote back the same day.

  2. Build the glossary

    3 working days before

Send the agenda, the attendee list and any background documents. We load the glossary, names, titles and full entity names from them — this step sets the ceiling on accuracy.

  3. Line check

    30 minutes before start

Remote link or venue rig: audio feed, caption position on screen, translation channel, and a standby line.

  4. Go live

    During the session

Stenographers write live while captions and translations go on screen. Long sessions run two writers in rotation; no one works more than 45 minutes at a stretch.

  5. Deliver

    6–12 hours after

Proofread verbatim transcript plus time-coded caption files. Summary, speaker-split and bilingual side-by-side versions on request.

Cases

Work we have done, with the numbers attached.

Each record keeps the language pair, the scale and the delivery terms — the things you actually compare when booking. Engagements under confidentiality are not listed.

ZH ⇄ EN · Google · Online meetings

Two years of meetings that change language mid-sentence

Speakers move between Chinese and English inside a single sentence — the product name and the technical term in English, the clause around them in Chinese. Automatic captioning has to commit to one language and mangles the other. A human stenographer does not have to choose: what was said gets written in the script it was said in. Regular online meetings, running for two years without a break.

KO · Netflix Tudum · Live broadcast

Korean live captions for Tudum, Netflix's global fan event

A live broadcast to a worldwide audience, with no second take. Korean captions were written as the talent spoke and fed straight into the outgoing stream. Titles, cast names and original-language work titles were locked into the glossary beforehand so none of them drifted on air.

ZH · Middlebury · Online course

An online Chinese course, captioned twice a day for two months

Live Chinese captions on every session of Middlebury's online Chinese course — one hour at a time, twice a day, Monday to Friday, for two months. Same-language captions let learners tie the sound they hear to the character on screen in the moment, which is the hardest gap a language course has to close. One captioner stayed with the run, so teaching vocabulary and the instructor's turns of phrase carried from session to session, and each class transcript went to students afterwards as review material.

ZH · L'Oréal · Company-wide event

Chinese live captions for L'Oréal's annual Ethics Day

Ethics Day is L'Oréal's once-a-year company-wide session, where staff put questions to leadership directly. Chinese live captions let Chinese-speaking colleagues follow the exchange as it happened instead of reading a summary afterwards — in a session like this, the value is in the words as they were actually said.
